#63 : Before You Plan 2026… Read This

A few weeks ago, I had one of those tiny, unremarkable moments that somehow lands like a truth bomb.

I’ve spent most of this year reacting instead of choosing.

Not in a dramatic, everything-is-falling-apart way.
Just in that slow, subtle drift that so many of us experience without even noticing.

Saying yes when I meant no.
Starting strong on a Monday only to slip into survival mode by Thursday.
Trying to plan my life from a place of exhaustion rather than honesty.

And in that quiet moment, I realised something important:

Planning isn’t about reinventing yourself.
Planning is about supporting the woman you already are
.

That single realisation changed the entire way I’m approaching planning in 2026 and it’s the reason I wrote this blog to help you do the same.

This year, instead of overwhelming yourself with goals, lists, and colour-coded perfection… we’re doing it differently.

We’re planning your year the easy way.

Let’s walk through it.

Start With Your Baseline: Where Are You Now in 2026?

Most planning goes wrong at the first step.
We set goals based on who we wish we were, not who we actually are right now.

Before you even think about planning for 2026, pause and check in:

How do you feel in your body today?
How’s your energy?
Your sleep?
Your stress?
Your hormones?
Your movement habits?

Next, what season of life are you in emotionally?
Not winter or summer! The internal season.

Maybe you’re rebuilding. (this is where I am)
Maybe you’re expanding and growing
Maybe you’re tired and craving steadiness.
Maybe you’re quietly hopeful.

And finally:
What genuinely matters to you right now?
Not the whole long list… the top one or two things that tug at your attention when you’re honest about what it is you want.

When you plan from truth instead of pressure, everything becomes easier.

The Four Pillars for 2026 Planning

Once you know where you’re starting, you can explore the four areas that shape how your year feels. These pillars aren’t goals, they’re directions.

1. Health + Energy

Movement, sleep, boundaries, nourishment, strength, hormone support. Whatever helps you feel steady and capable.

2. Purpose + Work

Not just “career progression,” but energy, creativity, and the way you want your work to feel.

3. Home + Lifestyle

Your environment matters.
Your routines matter.
Your daily life matters far more than you realise.

4. Self + Relationships

Joy. Identity. Connection. Boundaries. Play.
The parts of you that get buried when life gets busy.

You don’t need goals in all four.
You just need clarity. Enough of an idea to know where to gently place your focus.

Your Lighthouse Goal: The Identity Shift That Guides Your 2026

Here’s where you create your own guiding question.

Instead of setting ten goals and hoping you remember them by February, choose one overarching direction – your Lighthouse Goal.

Your Lighthouse Goal isn’t a number.
It isn’t measurable.
It’s who you’re becoming.

It might sound like:

“I’m becoming a woman who protects her energy.”
“I’m building a body that supports my life.”
“I’m creating a home that feels like ease.”
“I’m choosing joy and connection.”

This becomes your little guiding compass.
Every decision in 2026 can be held up to it with a simple question:

Does this move me closer to the woman I’m becoming?

It’s the simplest way to stay aligned without overwhelm.

Breaking 2026 Into Four Gentle Quarters

Overwhelm happens when we try to change everything in January.

Instead, split your year into four phases:

Quarter / Month 1: Foundations

Small, steady shifts.
The simplest version of your Lighthouse Goal.

Quarter / Month 2: Build

Layer in consistency.
Strengthen what’s working.

Quarter / Month 3: Stretch

A confidence-building moment or a playful / interesting challenge.

Quarter / Month 4: Integrate

Let it all settle.
No rushing.
No panic planning.
Just becoming.

Ask yourself:
What would Quarter/ Month 1 look like if I wasn’t trying to overhaul my life?

That question is freeing, because it gives you the choice and allows you to take smaller steps.

Monthly + Weekly Check-Ins That Keep You focused

This is where planning turns into real life.

Monthly, ask yourself:

What’s the one thing that would make life easier this month?
What’s one thing supporting my health?
What do I need less of?
What am I proud of?

Weekly, choose three non-negotiables:

Movement.
Rest.
Food planning.
Boundaries.
Water.
Sleep.

Whatever supports your Lighthouse Goal.

You don’t need perfection. You just need to build confidence and consistency with the steps you are taking.

Your Word / Theme of the Year

Instead of picking a word that pressures you to be “better,” choose a word that shapes how you want to feel.

My word is flow: Movement without force, Work with ease and creativity and a home the feels cozy and freeing.

Yours might be ease, steady, expand, nourish, soften, rise, reclaim…
Anything that brings you back to yourself.

Let your word guide you, not judge you.

For example: My word last year was Authentically me, because it was about finding me.

A Message From Your Future Self

To finish, imagine it’s December 2026.

You’ve lived a year guided by your lighthouse goal.
You’ve supported your body, your energy, your confidence, your joy.

Picture the version of you sitting there.

What does she want to thank you for starting now?
What choices made her life calmer?
What simple habits helped her feel more like… her?

Let her speak.
Let her guide you.

Give yourself the gift of a year shaped by choice, not chaos.
A year that has flow, steadiness, and space for the woman you’re becoming.

And if you want to share your Lighthouse Goal or Word of the Year with me, I’d genuinely love to hear it.
